 Advantest Receives "Excellence in Environmental Management" Prize at 8th Japan Sustainable Management Awards

TOKYO, Japan, March 26, 2010 - Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE) today announced that it has received the "Excellence in Environmental Management" prize in the 8th Japan Sustainable Management Awards, sponsored by the Japan Sustainable Management Awards committee and Mie Prefecture to promote a sustainable balance between the economy and the environment. Advantest becomes one of just four companies nationwide to receive this honor in fiscal 2009.

Since 2002, the Mie Prefecture local government has spearheaded Japanese regional efforts to encourage sustainability, environmentally friendly development, and ecological awareness. The Japan Sustainable Management Awards committee has recognized a total of 120 organizations to date for their initiative in leading Japan's shift to sustainable development.
