 Advantest Publishes Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2008

TOKYO, Japan, July 25th, 2008 - Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE), has published its 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, an annual report on the group's CSR activities in fiscal 2007.
The Advantest Group's CSR Report serves as a tool for communication between the company and its stakeholders. The CSR Report 2008 provides commentary on the range of CSR activities the company undertook over the previous fiscal year, introducing the endeavors from the perspective of each stakeholder group. Advantest is committed to treating all of its stakeholders with respect, and aims to work in harmony with society towards ensuring sustainability. The company seeks to deepen its communicative relationship with stakeholders by making its CSR undertakings public through the Report, and it continually strives to enhance the level of its CSR activities further.

For each category, fiscal 2007 CSR projects and their results are depicted in figures, enhancing the Report's visual comprehensibility. Targets for fiscal 2008 are also clearly indicated. |

The Report includes a special feature focusing on how Advantest, as a manufacturing company, is tackling the issue of training personnel for the future. By offering its skills and technical expertise to schemes promoting collaboration between industry and academia, the company is contributing to the development of semiconductor industry personnel. It also holds science craft days for local elementary school children to help incite a greater interest in science among young people, and provides specialist training for its employees, through technical seminars and the handing down of technical knowledge. |
