Advantest Procurement Policy Enacted
October 29, 2007
TOKYO, Japan, October 29th, 2007 - Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE), today announced that it has enacted its Advantest Procurement Policy. Formerly, Advantest requested all suppliers to take environmental measures based on its Green Procurement Guidelines. Today, in keeping with the advancing globalization of the company's supply chains, the issue at hand is becoming more than just environmental. Increasing weight is being given to the realm of corporate social responsibility (CSR), which includes issues such as observing relevant laws, regulations, and social code in the regions where businesses are operated, and ensuring product safety. In response to this trend, Advantest has decided to present its basic procurement policy, thereby requesting all suppliers of its group companies to take a proactive stance with regard to CSR activities.

Advantest Procurement Policy is outlined below:
1. Basic Procurement Policy
Advantest Group will comply with all applicable laws, regulations and accepted social practices. It will strive to establish relations based on mutual trust with its suppliers and engage in procurement activities that honor fair and open competition.
