Advantest Achieves 19th Consecutive Year on VLSI Research's Annual 10 BEST Supplier Lists

TOKYO, Japan, June 27th, 2007 - Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE), the world's leading supplier of test equipment, announces it is on VLSI Research Inc's 10 BEST list for the 19th consecutive year, a significant industry achievement. Based on direct customer feedback from surveys representing 95 percent of the world's total semiconductor market, VLSI Research, the leading semiconductor market research firm, ranks Advantest third in the market segment of "Test Equipment" and fourth in "Material Handling Equipment."
Among all of the 10 BEST Test Equipment suppliers, Advantest earned the highest ratings for Build Quality and Product Performance, and among the suppliers for Material Handling Equipment, the company attained the highest scores for Process Support and Spares Support.
Advantest was also named among the top three large suppliers of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This Large Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment 10 BEST competition comprises the 15 largest companies in terms of their sales of chip making equipment, and ranks them based on survey responses from their customers.
