Advantest to Support 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games
February 10, 2005
TOKYO, Japan — Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE), the world's largest supplier of semiconductor test equipment, as part of its corporate social responsibility program, will support the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games to be held in Nagano, Japan, by SONA (the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games, Nagano, a non-profit organization).
Scheduled to take place in Nagano Prefecture from 26 February to 5 March, the games have a tradition of support from ordinary citizens. They offer an opportunity for intellectually handicapped athletes from nations around the world to gather and vie in various competitions. At the Special Olympics, people come together and have fun through sports, creating a warm and welcoming environment that is open to everyone regardless of handicap or nationality.

Fully committed to a society of mutual respect, Advantest rejects discrimination and prejudice against the handicapped. In that spirit, the company last year founded Advantest Green Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary for promoting the employment of people with mental and physical disabilities. The same commitment drives Advantest's support for the Special Olympics World Winter Games. These social contributions exemplify Advantest's ongoing role in the creation of a compassionate society where human rights are truly universal.
