Advantest Kyushu Systems Co., Ltd. Participates in the Tree Planting Project
April 8, 2011
On March 13th, three employees from Advantest Kyushu Systems Co., Ltd. (AQS) joined the total of 230 volunteers and participated in the tree planting project at Mt. Umami located in the city of Kama in Fukuoka Prefecture.

This was a tree planting project hosted by a volunteer organization called the Conference to Promote Forestation at the Onga Riverhead in Kama. The purpose of this project was to create a space where human beings and nature can coexist by developing a forest that nurtures water, which is the essence of life.

The volunteers spent one hour climbing up Mt. Umami and planted approximately two hundred ginkgo seedlings, which are less susceptible to damages by deer, near the peak of the mountain. Although planting on the steep slopes was a challenging task, the beautiful landscapes that everyone could see certainly helped the participants to enjoy the work.

AQS will continue to conserve the Onga River, which is the main waterhead in the city of Kitakyushu, and foster biodiversity by working together with the stakeholders in developing the forest in the future.
