Advantest America, Inc. Installs an Energy-saving System
on the Roof

Advantest America, Inc. (AAI) holds up, as one of its themes for the ISO14001 activities, the goal of reducing the energy usage by 30% by the end of Fiscal Year 2010.
In order to achieve this theme, and to reduce our energy usage, AAI's head office in Santa Clara installed an energy-saving system on the roof of the corporate building in the first half of Fiscal Year 2009.
AAI, first, installed the heat insulating roof system on all the roofs of the corporate building. The heat insulating roof is a system that prevents the increase in temperature on the surface of the roof by reflecting the radiated heat from the sun effectively. By introducing this system, the heating and cooling system inside the building can be operated efficiently, and the further reduction in energy use and cost become possible.
As its second activity, AAI introduced and installed a more efficient HVAC system than the one used previously on the roof.
By setting up these two energy-saving systems, we can expect the reduction of 600,000kWh in our annual power usage and the cost effectiveness of 36,000 dollars.
AAI will continue its consideration for the measures to reduce the energy usage and for the contribution to the global environment.
