| On November 7th, the Energy Conservation Expert Committee of the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) held a meeting at Advantest’s Gunma R&D Center (located at Meiwa-machi, Ora-gun, Gunma-ken). The attendees were also invited to the tour in our company’s biotope, which is one of the largest biotopes in Japan.
In the first part of the committee’s meeting, we presented our company’s effort in protecting our environment by introducing the green product development and the anti-global warming activities at each facility. We, then, received some feedback from the committee members. During the tour in the biotope maintained within the premise of the Gunma R&D Center, we explained Advantest’s activities to preserve the ecosystem and communicated the importance of protecting the biodiversity of natural life forms.
The committee members commented, “We expect that you will continue to promote energy conservation of your products, as well as putting your product making in the perspective of anti-global warming measures, and have a great success worldwide. |

| Mr. Masuda from ULVAC, Inc., the Chairman of the Energy Conservation Expert Committee of the SEAJ: |
 |
Thank you very much for letting us use the Gunma R&D Center for the committee meeting this time. In the biotope we toured, we were able to see ducks flocked in the pond, trees of Quercus and beech, chirping birds, bumblebees’ artificial honeycomb and a brook, all of which symbolizes your breathtaking efforts in creating this natural environment as a space for the children in the local community to interact with each other.

| Mr. Nakajima from SOKUDO Co., Ltd., the Vice Chairman of the Energy Conservation Expert Committee of the SEAJ: |
 |
In your show room, I was able to see the details of the generational shifts brought by your focus on the self-designed shrunk substrate to save energy. Also, since this place is a base for R&D, I thought the spacious layout of the entire site helps to conceive creative ideas.
