Participates in Ecolife Day in Summer 2008

Advantest Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI) took part in a campaign against global warming, called Ecolife Day in Summer 2008, organized by Saitama Prefecture.
Ecolife Day is an event where every family practices an ecologically friendly living by using a simple check sheet. AMI has been participating in this event since Ecolife Day in Summer 2006.
Every participant chose one day between July 19th and July 21st to practice this Ecolife Day in Summer 2008, and the total of 967 employees and their family members from the Kumagaya Factory (located in Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture) and the Gunma Factory (located in Ora-machi, Gunma Prefecture) participated in this event. They successfully achieved the reduction of approximately 883 kg of carbon dioxide (CO2). We were also able to achieve 100% participation from our employees in this event, which demonstrated the increase in their awareness for the prevention of global warming.
Our employees who participated in this event commented, "Ecolife has become very much rooted in our daily lives, and we are now able to engage in the activities that are friendly to our nature and environment," and "The idea that this Ecolife will lead to our children's bright future makes this whole practice an enjoyable one."
We hope that all of our employees will participate in the next Ecolife Day in Winter 2008, and each one of them will be part of the CO2 reduction drive in a proactive manner in his/her life.
