Participating in 100-Year Environmental Project to Restore Greenery in Sendai

On Saturday March 17th, a tree-planting event for local citizens was held in the Miyagino district of Sendai City. The activity was the 10th of its kind and as part of our CSR activities, seven members of staff from Advantest Laboratories Ltd. (ATL), including President Norihito Kotani, volunteered to take part.
These activities are part of a 100-year initiative organized by Sendai City which plans, with the cooperation of local citizens, businesses and government authorities, to restore and nurture the city's greenery. On the day, about 1000 volunteers from local elementary schools, businesses and the like took part in the large-scale event. We worked in the cold, in temperatures of 5°C, but felt a sense of achievement having planted the trees, knowing we had contributed to the environmental effort.
We plan to keep participating in such activities in the future.
