Dreams Fly High At 3rd Science Craft Day
July 24, 2006
Advantest held its 3rd Science Craft Day at our Gunma R&D Center on August 15th.

129 elementary schoolchildren and parents from 60 local families participated in the event, themed "How to Make and Launch a Pet Bottle Rocket," in which Advantest volunteers taught the children to make pet bottle rockets and explained the scientific principles behind the project. Altogether, 21 Advantest employees volunteered their time as staff and helpers. When the rockets were built, it was launch time! The children divided into three groups to launch their rockets in three separate volleys. The record-setting rocket flew an impressive distance of 100 meters.

We at Advantest are grateful for this chance to introduce local children to the joys of science and making things. We look forward to the next Science Craft Day!
