2nd Science Craft Day Delights Local Elementary Schoolers
March 3, 2006
Targeting local fourth- to sixth-graders, Advantest held its second Science Craft Day at its Gunma R&D Center, in Meiwa-machi, Gunma prefecture, on February 18th. Sixty parents and children participated altogether.

Explore the Mysterious World of Magnetism! was the theme of the day. Activities included the opportunity to build a stereo speaker, an electric motor, a magnetic force line viewing device, and an electromagnet. Advantest employees acted as volunteer activity leaders, encouraging children to solve technical puzzles to improve the performance of their creations.

At the closing ceremony, to the strains of "See! The Conquering Hero Comes" performed on a harmonica, AAY President Takayuki Nakatani presented participants with "Young Master" licenses, to their great delight.

Advantest's Science Craft Days, henceforth to be held regularly, are highly popular events that serve to draw children into the wonders of applied science and help us to build bonds with local communities.
